How do I get to the French Basque Country?By Train The train from Paris through Bordeaux stops in both Bayonne and Biarritz. By Flight We recommend flying into Biarritz Airport, it's a 35min drive from our home. Flying into Bordeaux also works, it's 2hrs from our home. By Car As you'll need a car for Basque countryside, it also makes sense to drive there.

Where do I stay?Concerning accommodation, we recommend staying in Bayonne or in the countryside surrounding our family home. Biarritz is beautiful, on the coast, but it is a bit further (45min drive). If you're family, we got you covered.

So when does the wedding week(end) actually start? The first official event is on Friday: a drink and stand-up dinner at the family home (1945 Route de l'Ocean). But the fun starts before, for those who want to join. On Wednesday we're going into the mountains. On Thursday to the beach! And there will be tennis, volleyball, football, and other sports at the house throughout the week running up to the wedding weekend. It's rare to have so many good people in one place, so we must make the most of it.

What do I wear for the wedding and party? The theme is art nouveau, jugentstil. Think Mucha, Klimt, Europe pre-WW1. *For those preferring feminine attire:* - This means flowing, elegant dresses with intricate details. - Soft pastel colors and floral or geometrical patterns are perfect. - Accessories like delicate gloves, feathered hats, or vintage jewelry can complete the look. - And since it's a countryside wedding, folk touches, like embroidery, are also encouraged. *For those preferring masculine attire:* - Consider classic suits, three-piece ensembles, or uniforms. - Dark, muted colors work well, but don't hold back if you want to be colourful! - Ties, bow ties, or light scarves are encouraged. - And a touch of vintage or rural flair, like a hat or suspenders, can add to the charm. Take this simply as inspiration, not the law. Most important is that you feel good and share your energy. Also, it will likely be rather warm in mid-September. So if you dress up, the clothes can gradually come off over the course of the day and into the night ;)
